Earth vs. Elves erupts into chaos as an impossible partnership is born

What was supposed to be a showcase of Earth against the Elven Lands became one of the most shocking nights in Universal Pro Wrestling history.

The scheduled contest featured Earth representatives Kane and Grune Frunelli against the Elven warriors Nythalor Shadowblade and Sylvanor Greenheart. Fans entered the arena expecting national and racial pride to define the battle.

Instead, before the opening bell even rang, those loyalties were shattered.

As Grune climbed through the ropes, Kane suddenly grabbed a steel chair.

Kane smashed the chair across Grune's back.

He looked down at Grune before turning toward the stunned crowd.

“You people thought this was Earth against the Elves.”

“You thought I was supposed to fight beside Grune because we were born on the same world.”

“And you thought Nythalor was supposed to stand beside Sylvanor because they're both elves.”

“You're wrong.”

Nythalor stood silently beside him.

Kane pointed toward the Dark Elf.

“From this moment forward, I fight with HIM.”

“Nythalor and Kane. No nations. No kingdoms. No loyalty except to each other.”

The crowd erupted in boos.

For the first time since UPW brought the four worlds together, a major alliance had formed across world boundaries.

And it was born through betrayal.

DURIN STONEBRAND MAKES THE MATCH

UPW owner Durin Stonebrand appeared on the entrance platform.

He wasn't interested in speeches.

If Kane and Nythalor wanted to stand together, Stonebrand declared, then they could prove themselves together.

Grune charged back into the ring and nearly took Kane's head off with the European Uppercut.

The crowd came alive.

For several minutes, Grune and Sylvanor controlled the match.

Then Kane and Nythalor showed everyone why their alliance might be terrifying.

Nythalor attacked Sylvanor's leg while Kane isolated Grune.

Eventually Grune fought free.

He caught Kane and attempted the Italian Bulldriver.

Nythalor saved his partner.

Sylvanor rushed into the ring and clotheslined Nythalor over the ropes.

Then Grune turned around.
